"legend has it that in ancient times, Buddha asked all the animals to meet him on Chinese New Year. Twelve came, and Buddha named a year after each one. He announced that the people born in each animal's year would have some of that animal's personality. Those born in snake years are wise, charming, gregarious, introverted, generous, and smart. Audrey Hepburn, Bob Dylan, Jean Simmons, Oprah Winfrey, Virginia Woolf, Brad Pitt, Greta Garbo, and Sir Roger Bannister were born in the year of the snake."
I wish everyone a very prosperous and happy New Year with lots of 福 (good fortune), 祿 (prosperity) and 寿(long life).
Yes, but my dragon trumps the snake...LOL! ;D
ReplyDeleteI love that soap set, BTW!
DeleteThank you! I love that set too, wish others would love it enough to buy it.
DeleteYour dragon trumps all the other animals, they just needed to find something nice to say about the snake. Our financial planner was telling us that the year of the snake is supposed to be bad for finances.
Happy New Year to you and your family Monica! I was born on a year of the pig, and the personality profile definitely describes me :)
ReplyDeleteI totally see you as a pig Cee, in a good way I mean. :) You are generous, probably to a fault, and are honest and thoughtful. Definitely describes you.
DeleteBeautiful, Monica! I am addicted to Chinese signs too!
ReplyDeleteWish you health and beautiful and happy moments!
Thank you Natalia, and welcome. I took a look at your blog and you make the most amazing soaps. I look forward to seeing your future creations and taking inspiration from them.
DeleteHappy Chinese New Year! I have to look up and see what my animal sign is. I didn't know how the year of the animal came to be... interesting! Thank you for the info!
ReplyDeleteI hope you come back and tell us what animal you are, I'd be interested to find out.
DeleteTo be honest, I had forgotten how they had named the years for each animal as well, so it was a good reminder for me.
