I'm in the wrong profession

Reading Super Freakanomics, I realize I could be making gobs of money...by being an escort. Well I couldn't be because I think you actually need to have some social skills and it doesn't hurt to have a killer body. The book was printed in 2010, and at the time of the interview, the escort was making $500/hour.

Another profession that I have no qualifications to do, but makes huge money apparently, are make up artists for East Indian weddings. $2,500 for a pre-wedding consultation and then two make up sessions on the actual wedding day. It's even better money than being an escort, and best of all, you can be truthful to friends and family about what you do for a living.

Soaping will never make me a millionaire, but it does bring me some happiness to know that the people who buy my soaps are clean and smell nice.

  1. And like what you said about the make-up artist, you also won't be embarrassed to tell your family what you do for a living when you make soaps. ;)

    1. That's true. Although if I can bring in tens of thousands of dollars a year and pay off your mortgage, would you really mind me selling my body? ;)

    2. When I say "family", I wasn't referring to me! I'm open-minded (that's how my brain fell out). ;)

You can sell anything you want if you keep safe and disease-free. Heh

    3. And if I can bring in gobs of money so you guys never have to worry about working another day in your life, then I can definitely do anything i want right?

  2. $500 an hour?? WTF? Sorry, but whose body is worth that much. LOL! All the goodies must be made out of gold or something. Sheesh! Just think, the same men paying the $500 probably quibble over paying $50 for their kids shoes.

I'll do the make-up artist thing... if the bride doesn't have any rules about how it should look :D

    1. I know what you mean, it's amazing what some people will pay for what they want or think is worth the money. It might work the other way around, those men paying for escorts might feel so guilty about what they're doing, they'd be willing to pay whatever to keep their spouses and kids happy.

I think the trick to the makeup thing is to tell your clients that what you're doing is in vogue and keep them away from any sort of media. ;)

  3. You're such a cute petite lil' thing that I'm sure you'd have no problem in the first occupation. It is amazing how much men will pay for that. I just don't get it.

I love that it makes you happy to make people clean and smell nice! lol I just went to my orientation and the other guy that was training with me had an un-clean odor. I can't help it. I just notice things like that. Haley used to react to all perfumes, but she is growing out of it which I am so happy of!!!

    1. Thanks Grace, but like I said, i don't have the right attitude for it, I'd end up getting up and walking out in the middle of a sentence cuz I'm bored.

Oh dear, it's tough when people don't realize how much they smell, and I know from first hand experience how difficult it is to be around people like that. Nice that Haley's not allergic anymore, too many people are, which to me is a real shame.
