So instead, I came up with a little guest mold rainbow.
This was as much as my ADD brain could handle. I actually attempted to measure out the exact same amount for each layer. But when you do something this small, it's hard to pour out the exact same amount each time.
The soap starts to harden as soon as it starts being poured out of the measuring cup, and so some of the soap didn't make it all the way to the edges.
You can also tell ROY didn't play so well together, but G did a good job of making itself stand out from the crowd, as did B, but IV kinda blended together.
It's hard to tell, but those are supposed to be coins on top of the rainbow. I should maybe have tried to make an imprint of a coin on them, but didn't come up with that idea until after the fact. Or better yet, put a few Canadian pennies in the soap since they're no longer being used anyway.
So happy early St. Patrick's Day? Are you drinking any green beer? Eating any corned beef and cabbage? Finding any leprechauns? (That would probably be after one too many green beers.) Whatever you do for St. Patrick's Day, I hope it's a good one.
Well, I never do anything for St Patrick's Day, as you know. Funky pot of gold soap! Maybe you can sell these to casinos? :)
ReplyDeleteSeeing how you're not a drinker, you don't need a day like St. Pat's Day to go out and drink like a fish. :)
DeleteGreat idea about the casinos! I should see if they'd have tokens that can be inserted into the soaps, like scratch 'n save cards, but this would be wash 'n earn soaps. ;)
They look like egg yolks to me. :-) Rainbow cake? :)
ReplyDeleteSpoken like a foodie Silvia! ;D I think a rainbow cake sounds delicious.
DeleteCute soap, Monica! The pot o' gold at the end of the rainbow. I hope that you had a good St. Patrick's Day!
ReplyDeleteThanks Jenny! Yep, except this rainbow's so small it could only have a few coins. ;)
DeleteAw, this turned out so cute! The bottom layer looks like rainbow jello, and I love this little coins...I think they are perfect just as they are! I made some Irish Cream cupcakes for St. Patrick's Day =)
ReplyDeleteThanks Cee! You're right it looks like jello doesn't it? Although the colours in Jello are much more uniform. I'm glad you like it tho.
DeleteSeriously, I need to move to your place, you always have great baking going on and amazing soaps on the go. And yes, I'll do your housework for you. :)
This looks like a jello, indeed, so colorful and nicely done! I know you see those imperfections layers, but we don't , we see a beautiful soap with 5 equal layers! Lovely, Mobica!
ReplyDeleteYou are very sweet Nat. I do like the colourfulness of the soap, they make me happy. :)
DeleteOops, how did I miss this one? (I know, being on a trip makes difficult to catch up with everything). Anyway, the soap is so cute, I also don't see layers are not even, you're so strict to yourself. 'Coins', or 'egg yolks', or 'suns' are nice finishing touch, so cheerful and warm. Nice contrast against the blue beneath.
ReplyDeleteThat's because you're busy Maja. But I'm glad you're here now. Hope your trip was a good and relaxing one. It's so nice to have friends like you who're always so positive and say the nicest things. Hopefully spring has arrived for all of us and we'll all be inspired to do more spring like soaping.
