I'm Dreaming of a

Getaway to some tropical island.

While my sister was visiting, we hit the thrift stores as we always do. I managed to find two bags with 3 moulds each for $2.99. Score! This flower is one of the moulds in there, and I put it on a mini muffin silicone mould I had bought for half price. Don't you love a good deal?

I was going to do a swirl effect with the flower, but it didn't work out the way I planned so I went with it and poured a soft pink on the bottom and then topped the rest of the mould with the remaining oatmeal infused white base.

Hindsight being 20/20, I should've scented this one with something flowery. Well there's always next time right? Maybe something jasmine-y or the white ginger and amber cybilla FO, what do you think?

Maybe I can run fishing wire through about 6 of these and make a soap lei.

  1. Those are wonderful! I think BB's Cherry Blossom FO would go great with this project.

And making a lei is a great idea too!

    1. Thank you Teresa! I like that idea of the Cherry Blossom FO, I'll have to use that scent on the next batch I make (if I do again because you know me, ADD big time). A lei would give new meaning to soap on a rope.

  2. So pretty! What scent did you use? Yes, a Jasmine or another dainty floral scent would be a good match.
Good deal on the molds! It feels good to get a good bargain. :)

    1. Thanks Silvia. I was too lazy to pick a scent this time, so I should try another batch and do something floral.

      Yeah I can't resist a good deal. :)

  3. As for me, it would be water lily, it looks like one , floating on the water surface! I just thought how translucent it looks, then I saw you put two layers, very smart. Love the look of this soap, so watery and tropic. Who needs autumn in September?!
I love bargains, but they exist to leave me pocket-emptied and i always wonder where my money has disappeared afterwards. Hihi, there's always something!

    1. I've never tried water lily scent Maja, but that sounds lovely. I like your idea of it though, floating on the water, that makes for beautiful imagery. I do enjoy autumn for the fact that I can put on more layers of clothing and therefore eat more and not look like I've gained weight.

Hah I know what you mean, it's too easy to snap up bargains because the more you spend, the more you save. ;)

  5. The scent I would I associate this soap with would be frangipani, but every floral scent would be a good match. Love the layers of the soap( great job) and of course, it's always nice to get cheap and good soap stuff!

    1. Frangipani, is that a flower scent or something edible? Sorry, I always think about food and with your creations, doubly so Nat. :)

Thanks, I was pleasantly surprised at how well the layers turned out.
