And time to show off the last of the moulds my friend gave me. This one is more Christmas-y, which is why I saved it until now. I really enjoyed doing the detail work on this, but as you can see in the last photo, trying to make the words stand out by colouring them didn't work out quite as planned.

Being geographically challenged, I'm not sure which way is up. |

The green in the wording looks like Slimer from Ghostbusters spewed out those words. |
Are you prepared for craft fair season? Are you doing any craft fairs this year or attending any?
Have a great week!
This is gorgeous, Monica! I am sure this will sell well at the craft fairs!
ReplyDeleteI was invited to join the Christmas bazaar of an international school but I didn't go for it. I felt that I didn't have enough soaps for this bazaar, and I was too tired as it is. Hahaha!
Thanks Silvia! Surprisingly, not a lot of people showed much interest in it at the shows so far; no accounting for taste. ;)
DeleteYou would probably have sold out of all your soaps and then had to make more to give away to friends and family right? You're very smart not to partake in the bazaar, too much work. ;)
I love that first one! I don't think you you need to do the letters. And you're not geographically challenged, that is not quite a right globe rendition.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad to hear that Teresa! Well I love that you both love the look of the first one and that I'm not completely off based in not knowing which way is up. :) Yeah I'm not going to do the letters again, too much finicky work.
DeleteSuch a great mold! I love the detail! I agree with Teresa, the letters are good without color.
ReplyDeleteIt's a cool mould, isn't it Michelle? It does make for a great example of detailing. Glad to hear the letters don't need to be a different colour, it's way too much work just to look not so great. ;)
DeletePretty soaps, Monica, and they're perfect for the holiday season. Those letters have a lot of little details that look tough to fill - I think I like them better uncolored anyway. I hope your shows are going well. I used to do craft shows but I don't sell my soaps anymore. I still enjoy going to shows, though!
ReplyDeleteI really like this mould because it's non-faith based, just a general good message. Filling in the letters was a real pain in the you-know-where, so I'm glad most people think it's unnecessary.
DeleteWhat?!?! You're not selling anymore? I hope you will start up again once you're settled in; your soaps are too pretty not to share with the world.
How could I miss this? (I know,I was away,that's why) !
ReplyDeleteThey are absolutely gorgeous! Love the first ones and the letters stand out better than on the last one (where you wanted them to) !
You missed it because you're crazy busy all the time? ;) But I'm glad you came back to it, this is so sweet of you.
DeleteYes, I agree, the lettering stands out just fine on their own and without me muddling around with colouring them in, you can actually read them.
