Inspired by others

I've been lazy. I wasn't really inspired to do much soaping, and it's a vicious circle. I don't update my website, so no one looks, so no buyers, so I don't want to soap. Ad nauseum.

I went to the FB Melt and Pour group for inspiration and there's been a lot of talk about a soaper named Dean Wilson of Sentinel Candles. Mr. Wilson is kind enough to have a  YouTube channel where he shows how he creates some of his lovely soaps. Using his inspiration in Monkey Farts #3, I created this.

Scent:  Morning Rain

Unfortunately, the way these are cut, and probably the shape, it doesn't show the diamond shaped embeds. Mr. Wilson had used full spheres, but I decided on using only half spheres as it allowed me to pour in the different layers, since the mould I used was an ice cube mould.

Have a great week everyone!

  1. monica, lazy, you? I hope you are all right. You are so lively, it is hard to imagine you going around without soaping... Spring has arrived in Paris, I hope the sun finds you too and gives you plenty of desires.... Very warm regards.

    1. You are such a lovely person, Madame Propre! Thank you for your caring. I think I need to visit Paris during this time of year, where else can you be so inspired by nature, right?

Having some sunshine in my life has definitely helped me to be more positive and make things look brighter overall.

  2. I am not sure Paris is a source of inspiration... But that would be great fun to meet you!

    1. There is so much beauty in Paris, it's hard not to be inspired by it. I haven't been in so many years now, I do miss it. And now I have even more reason to go, I'd get to try and meet up with a wonderful and kind soaper!
