If it's springtime, it must be embeds

Well seeing how the last batch of soaps went so swimmingly well (not!), it made me want to continue to bang my head against the wall attempt more embeds. Seeing how it's spring time, I decided on some springtime themed embeds.

I think this would make lovely giveaways at weddings, once I get some super clear soap. I think the main thing that I find disappointing is not being able to see the background too well.

You can see it from the back side here, but the swan ends up looking like a duck. So not elegant (sorry ducks!)

Another thing that says spring to me, even though I don't play, is golf. This one was partly due to the fact I had made a half a golf ball, and had no clue what to do with it.

As you can see, it's a little higher than clear soap, but that works too right?

I hope you're having a lovely start to the spring season and have a great week!

One more embedded soap to use up some of the leftovers.

  1. Embeds are fun! It'll all be great once you get the proper bases. :) I like the golf ball! Also, the strips one looks like abstract art!

    1. Once I get proper embeds and learn how to place things straight rather than looking like I lean sideways, it'll be great. :D

The golf ball will look neat once I get clear base, thank you!

  2. You are so funny! I love the way you have the green at the bottom and light blue at the top and your swan is very pretty. You are much too hard on yourself, your soaps look great! Embeds are really fun to see in soap.

    1. I'm insane, but I'll take funny. ;)

I hope that when I get the clear soap, it'll show the grass and sky scenes much better. Thank you for your sweet comments, it makes me feel better. :)

  3. So even MP soaping has troubles with soap colours. I did not know that. I thought it was always transparent. It must be frustrating indeed that your work does not show. Embeds are so hard! They look like it is an easy techiaue but you need so much precision. I keep away from them because they are never what I intend them to be. Why don't you try rock soaps? Then you do not need to align everything! For all that, I like your little swan. Ducklings are cute....

    1. I think at all levels of soaping, there are bound to be frustrations of some sort, otherwise, it wouldn't be an art, would it?

You're so right about embeds being more difficult than they look. Trying to get them in exactly the right spot takes patience and a steady hand, two things I don't have.

Thank you, I like the swan as well, I may try and use it again in some other application.
