♫How dry I am, ♬nobody knows♭

My sister says everything reminds her of a song, and it does happen more often than not.

But back to this week's theme. My sister-in-law bought a u-brew place. Need I say more?

I "heart" wine. Get it?
This is why BB says not to use low sweat clear for embeds because it's hard to see them or the green layer below. D'oh!
Originally I was hoping to make more of a cascade of grapes, but the size of the balls weren't conducive to the overall shape of the mould, hence why they look the way they do (as opposed to me having had too much wine prior to making these soaps).

I scented the soaps with raspberry and chocolate, the idea being those are flavours you're supposed to taste in wine. Even though the scent isn't grape, the subliminal effect makes one think it smells like grape. Cool huh? Either that or the original scent is grape, but calling it sun-ripened raspberry sounds way more appealing.

Hope you're all having a happy Easter. Any excuse to eat more chocolate is a good one right?

    1. You can make that the new in thing to do Michelle. Instead of Perrier, why not bathe in wine for younger skin with a hint of sci-fi colouring to it. :D Thanks for the compliment, it really is a hit and miss process for me.

  2. Those are really darling soaps! Once you use non-low-sweat base, they will look even more wonderful.

    1. And yes, everything does remind me of a song...right now, I'm thinking of the line, "everybody's so different, we're all insane."

    2. Thanks Teresa, that means a lot to me. Yes, I can't wait to get some regular clear MP soap to see how my projects should really look. :D

Yep eventually what's currently in the DSM-IV will be considered normal again. ;)

  3. I don't know anything about melt and pour, but your grape soaps look cute! Is your sister-in-law going to sell your wine-themed soaps in her u-brew place?
I was not familiar with the song in your title, so I asked my husband if he knew. He can very well join Name That Tune but he did not know the song. He googled it and upon finding the answer, he asked, how old is this person? I said about my age. :) well, you just listen to a wider range of music than I do. :)

    1. Thank you Silvia. Again what's in my mind doesn't always come out the same in real life, but I'm fairly happy with the results this time. I hope to eventually coerce my s-i-l into selling my soaps for me. :)

Oh you made me laugh! I think it might be more a case of it being part of the old Looney Toons cartoons that we watched as kids. They were made way back when when those songs were in fashion. Other than that I'm sure you and your husband have a greater repertoire of music than me. =)

  4. Cute grape/wine soap, Monica! Sounds like it smells great, too. I was suddenly in the mood for big, bold red wine, so I picked up a Zin that promises blackberry, spice, and cocoa flavors. Yum! May have to uncork that bottle soon.

    1. Thanks Jenny! I like the smell, but then I like anything that smells fruity. Wow, that would be a great selling point for me to get it into wine stores: see people seeing and smelling this soap inspires them to buy more wine. :D

Enjoy your Zin, that sounds delicious.

  5. Mmm, raspberry and chocolate: it sounds like a delicious combination, Monica, for a soap scent. Your soap looks good, the grapes look so real!

    1. Thanks Nat. I need to put in a little more chocolate but I've been hoarding that scent since I don't have much left.

The grapes almost look better under the translucent layer, don't they? More realistic.

  6. I immediately knew it was a grape, prior to reading, so it means you did great job! The second soap will reveal its multi layer diversity with using and again, you did great! If only I could smell this beauty....

(Neither do Iknow the song :-( )

    1. You knew because you are one smart cookie Maja. :) But I appreciate the compliment. You're right, the second layer will show through, but I was hoping to have a nice green background against the grapes and the darker leaves. Oh well, next time.

I think it's a good thing you don't know the song, means you're not a lush like I am. :D

  7. I love this, so cute!!! I love the way some of the grapes are behind, it gives the soap dimension...hope you had a great Easter! :)

    1. Thanks Cee! I wish I could say the dimensional look was more on purpose, but for a first time effort, it wasn't bad.

I channeled you over Easter and did a lot of baking. Hope you had a wonderful long weekend with family.

    1. Thank you Gordana! I love all your soaps and the only reason I do MP soaps is because I'm still too chicken to try CP soaps.
