What's in a Name?

A number of posts back, Maja of Diva Soap suggested I take the alphabets I make and spell out names with them. I haven't really had anybody to do it for, since my nephews are old enough to roll their eyes at me if I did make them their names in soap. So, when my friend said she was coming for a visit and mentioned it was her son's birthday coming up, I thought it'd be a good time to try it out.

First I had to figure out what colours would work. I didn't want to do all blue since well, that'd be kinda boring. So I again went with Silvia's suggestions of colours, with a slight variation.

This was also a good way to use up some bits of leftover colours that I had laying around.

I hope he liked it, but since he had been napping, it was hard to get a positive response.

Have a great week.

Update
His mom emailed me later to say he did like the soap after all. 8)

    1. Wow Carrie, 1 1/2 years old and already learning letters, that's amazing! I think having fun ways to teach kids things we want them to learn is important, that way they don't think that learning has to be a chore.

    1. Well we know all sorts of crazy kids Teresa. ;) I think could've given him a rock wrapped with a ribbon and after he got over his sleepiness he would've been happy because what kid doesn't like presents? ;)

    1. Thank you Michelle! I like any sort of gift where I don't have to spend lots of time on wrapping because I'm so not good at it. :)

    1. I agree Silvia, kids like to have incentives to get into the bathtub. I've been asked in the past if I made soaps that kids can "colour" with, which could be something else I look into.

    1. You're hilarious Maja! :D That would be funny, to give a kid someone else's name. Yes, I have a terrible mean streak that way.

Thanks Maja, I should look again at your soaps for more colour inspiration since you are great at combining them. And you do have great suggestions.

    1. Thanks Jenny! Yeah after he was woken up from his nap and was not a happy camper, I was worried he would make a correlation between the visit, his rude awakening, and the soap and never want to bathe again. :D

    1. Thank you Nat! It's funny how if you can get yourself to step out of your normal thought process (in my case about colours) what you can come up with.
