Fairy Autumn

I'm still not willing to admit we're heading into the tail end of summer. Nope, not me, I don't care if the fair is on and that signals that September is around the corner. I'm sticking my head in the sand until I can't deny it any further.

I will however, admit that somewhere, in another universe, the leaves are changing colours and falling, and they fall into a gently flowing river that gathers them up into a bouquet to be used to brighten up a dark day.

Scented with black raspberry vanilla

Title:  Leaves in Flower

Back side. Maybe it should be the front.

Oatmeal infused bottom

Anyone else have momentary lapses of sanity where they write sentences straight out of bad romance novels? (Not that I'd know anything about those).

  1. Hah! You're funny. :) I love that second one the most, but they're all very pretty.

    1. Funny, that's another word for insane right Teresa? ;) The second one was made with the bottom of the cupcake mould.

  2. Hahaha! What romantic sci-fi novel are you hiding under your bed, Monica? :D. Whatever it is, it is providing nice inspiration for your soaps. :)

    1. Definitely not one I'm willing to pull out and show people Silvia. ;) It's a good thing I'm not using the murder mysteries I tend to read as inspiration. :D

  3. Hahaha, you always make me laugh! I already thought 'wow, she's writing a poem' and before I knew, the next 'sobering' paragraph came! You're really funny!
I like both soaps, the colours are so nice, pastel and autumn, but I hate that you just reminded the autumn was coming! Such a great idea to make a flower by overlapping leaves!

    1. Awww, you're so sweet Maja, thank you! I'm glad I can make you laugh even if it is at my insanity. ;)

Sorry, didn't mean to bring up the "A" word so soon, but it makes me happy that you're liking my creation.

  4. Haha, your poetic take on autumn wasn't that bad! :)
Beautiful soaps, Monica! Those leaf embeds are perfect for the season. I guess I'm the only one looking forward to autumn. I hate hot weather and can't wait for summer to be over!

    1. But I shouldn't quit my day job, right Jenny? ;)

Thanks, they were really testing my patience to wait for the clear soap to cool so it wouldn't completely melt my leaves.

I love spring and autumn as well, but we rarely get long hot summers here, so I'm soaking up as much Vitamin D as I can.

  5. You are too funny Monica! Are you willing to share what bad romance novels you've been reading :P

All of your soaps turned out really pretty! My favorite time of year is autumn and so although I am not looking forward to the cold that follows my favorite season I very much look forward to the changing of the leaves and so your soaps make me happy. I love the look of the layers in #2 and the the way you embed is perfect!

    1. I never read bad romance novels Michelle, not that I read many good ones either. Romance novels are just way fluffier than I can handle.

Autumn is a lovely time of year, I love the changing colours of the leaves and being able to put on some sweaters again (hide some of the evidence of too much cookie eating). The second soap makes me feel like I've got a strange pair of 3D glasses on. :D

  6. We did not have proper summer this year like we used to in the past. It was rainy and strange so that I do not have feeling that autumn is approaching... All soaps turned out grate! Such a nice way to express your feelings, even more creative that writing a novel, isn't it? :)

    1. You must've sent your summer to us Gordana, because we had an unusually nice summer. I hope you get some nice summery weather before fall kicks in.

Thanks for the compliment, it was fun trying to do the embeds and not melt them like I tend to do usually. Writing is not my strong suit, but being silly is. :)

  7. Wow, Monica, so lovely words about this changing of seasons! And your soaps are gorgeous, you seem to make a lot of soaps!
I like autumn and its colors, but I will miss summer and its fruits :).

    1. Thank you Nat! It's not like me to write such light, romantic like prose, but it seemed to suit the soaps. THe nice thing about making MP soaps is I can make one onlys so it seems like a lot, but I don't have to invest a lot of time and effort into it.

Oh you are so right about summer and all the wonderful fruits that are in season. I should take advantage more before it all ends.
