Mixing it up

I was looking at Cee's post on her bubble bath cupcakes, which was a bath bomb on the bottom and bath melt on top. It made me wonder what else you could mix together in terms of soaps.

Having some bath fizzes laying around, I decided to try putting into regular soap. I had to really watch the temperature of the soap since I didn't want it liquid-y enough to start the fizzing process (no idea if it would or not, but I didn't want the neighbours to hear me cursing if it did) so the soap ended up being almost like a jelly when I poured it.

I'm not sure how it will work out; I'm hoping that if used in a bath, the fizzies will fizz and leave the indentation behind in the soap, which would be kinda cool.

The back actually looks better than the front.

What new techniques are you currently working on? Have a great week!

  1. Wow, go back there, throw it into a tub and shoot! Then, come back with photos, or better a video, I wanna see the show! Such a cool idea, love it!
What have I been working on? Well, many things on agenda here: liquid soap, cream soap, daily facial non-greasy moisturizer,...hmmmm, what else,.... oh yeah, emulsified facial scrub....(there must be something more, I know...).... Everything but the regular soap, it appears, lol.

    1. I think I'm going to have to try that, just for you Maja. ;) So stay tuned for a future post where I show the results.

You are so busy all the time, I'm flattered that you still take time out to post on my blog. And did I mention how much I love all your products that you blog about? I'm glad you're making all sorts of different products, I find it fascinating to see what else soapers make.

  3. I thought bath bombs, fizzies and bath melts were all the same! LOL! I think it's such a cool idea to combine fizzie with soap - for an out of this world bath experience. It will certainly bring some fun in the bath! :)

    1. I wouldn't have known the difference either Silvia, were it not for Cee's explanation. I will definitely have to try out my combo to see if it works the way I think it should.

    2. I still think bombs and fizzies are the same, bomb is only a shape fizzies can have. Bath melts are, however, something else, they're basically made of butters and oils and melt in hot water, without any fizzy effect.

    3. Maja, you totally rock! Not only do you make beautiful soaps and stuff, you know everything about everything. Thanks for the explanation, now I'll have to try the bath melts.

  4. This looks like fun! Can't wait to see the follow up.
I am so far behind the times I have just done my first bath fizz/melt. A little fizz with a lot of oils, butters and epsom salts for all of the aches and pains!

  5. Just like Silvia, I thought that bath bombs, fizzes and melts were the same thing. They is still an unexplored territory for me but I love the idea of mixing different techniques and textures. Your soap looks very cute and I cannot wait to see it after you start using it!
