The Best Laid Plans

and you know the rest.

So much for getting my post out earlier and with the subject I had in mind to write about. The soaps I was planning on showcasing didn't turn out so I have to try again and hopefully post them next week instead.

On the bright side, I will be meeting with GG from Creampuffs by GG to discuss making soaps specifically for her. I've talked to her on the phone and email and she is wonderfully exuberant and energetic and I can't wait to meet her in person. We're going to go over scents that she thinks a little piggie should smell like. Any suggestions?

  1. Not just any piggie, but a piggie with a cute bow on its head...so it's not going to smell like Eau de Mud Puddles. ;)

Since it's a very pink piggie, maybe a bubblegum scent or a cotton candy scent might be nice. If she prefer not to have food, a peony scent or another pink flower scent could also work. My favorite fall-back-on scent, if Brambleberry still makes it, is Hello Sweet Thang! and that could work too.

And tangentially: I've always thought the expression was "best laid plans of mice and men" but it's apparently "the best laid schemes of...".

    1. It is an adorable piggie isn't it? I don't have any bubblegum or cotton candy but we may go with champagne or white ginger and amber. I need to get new scents I guess.

Really? You mean Robbie Burns lied to me about how the quote goes? Oh the horror!

    2. Well, I don't know about Rrrrrrobbie Burrrrrns, but in Steinbeck's book, it's "best laid schemes."

I have a hankering for haggis, all of a sudden. Weird...

    3. Well Burns predates Steinbeck, so I'm going with his version which is
"The best-laid schemes o' mice an 'men
      Gang aft agley,"

Haggis is overrated, needs more salt. ;)

    4. Well, that's still "schemes" like I said though.

How can organ meats possibly be over-rated?? One can never have enough organ meats! You can always add your own salt. Saw how to make it on Triple D once. I wanna try making it.

    5. Okay, so my little brain inserts in words where I want them to be, so sue me. 8)

Actually organ meats tend to be underrated, mostly by those who've never starved and had to make use of an entire animal. You're going to make your own organ meats or salt? ;>

    6. Well, duh...salt, of course! I have plans to dry up an entire ocean! ;P

  2. From the photo on her website, I really think that "Hello Sweet Thang" would go with it. ;)

  3. I have it set aside for you...obviously, it hasn't made its way to your place yet. Still packing, no doubt. ;)
