Craft Fair Preparedness

Why oh why do I make promises I can't keep without going insane? Partly because I'm crazy, partly because I am in denial that I'm getting old and don't have as much energy as I used to. I had forgotten how tiring it is going to work. Actually the work part is fine, it's the commuting that's tough. It takes me almost as much time to go from one end of town to the other as it does to go through two cities.

Last week, in a fit of insanity, I said I'd post a picture of my display. So, this post is late because I needed to have something to show as promised. Not being the most organized person I had to rush to get a display together for this post. Please remember that this is a work in progress and pardon the messy basement.

This is what the display would look like if all the lights were out. It looks much cooler in person.

The full display

Top two shelves

Bottom 3 shelves

Top shelf, gift boxes ready to go.
There's going to be more tweaking and adding of other soaps before the craft fair, but this is what's been done for now. I'd love to get some feedback

    1. Thanks Michelle. I hope that the saying is true, if you put it out there, they will come (and shop). ;)

  2. It looks great already! But if you have red fabric or red construction paper (or green), I'd suggest you line the shelves with them, basically hiding as much of the metal shelving as you can. The silver of the shelf would look much better (i.e. less sterile) if it peeked out here and there as a sparkly accent.

Love all the products! Like M says, you have a great (and nice) variety!

    1. Isn't sterile good? Kinda like clean, like the soaps? ;) I'll have to see if I can find some fabric, I think that'd look better than construction paper.

I definitely have depth, let's hope people buy.

  3. I love it!!! I love the packaging, soaps, display..everything! I think Teresa's suggestion of the red or green paper (tissue paper would work well too) on the shelves is a great idea, it would really make your products pop! I would probably add a little Christmas tree to the back of the 2nd shelf, just to fill up some space between the first and second shelves...maybe you could hang some of your smaller soaps on the tree if they aren't too heavy? Will you have a sign or banner with your business name prominently displayed? I wish I was close enough to shop, I would totally stop by your booth, it looks great!

    1. Thanks Cee Gee, you're very kind. I guess it means I have more shopping to do. I was thinking of the tree as well, now I just have to get one.

I have a banner which I'm hoping I can hang behind us, provided the set up is right. I wish you were close by as well, I could learn so much from you on how to make fantastic looking soaps.

    1. I'm behind too Carrie, just not so much in posting, that's all. :) Thank you for your optimism, it's definitely a different way of displaying soaps.
