Tribute Soaps

You know how there are tribute bands? They sing the songs of the great bands of old and even dress like them. Well these are my tribute soaps to movies, but since I'm not using the same genre, I'm taking very large artistic license.

We recently watched Dark Shadows on Netflix and I was drawn to the contrast of Barnabas' (Johnny Depp) very stark colouring versus the very bright colours of some of the other characters. This inspired the following soaps.

I like to think of this as Barnabas with Angelique.

I'd made the water/sky too dark so you couldn't see the "sand" beneath.
My "Jaws" tribute. ;)

Jaws sneaking up on the unsuspecting shell.

  2. I had to laugh at the shark... Jaws is a favorite movie over here. We root for the shark :D You have such a great imagination, the last soap is so perfect, it looks like a little wave is rolling in.

    1. Yeah my "shark" is so scary, isn't it Michelle? ;P TBH, I've never watched Jaws, I think I'd get too freaked out, but I like how you cheer the shark on. :D I have a warped imagination, but sometimes it can be a good thing right?

    1. Thanks Jenny! Dark Shadows wasn't one of Tim Burton's best movies, but it still is quirky, like him.

My "shark" is like me, kinda growth stunted. :D

    1. Thanks Nat! The water was a total fluke, I was actually going for a more turquoise colour, but was a bit heavy handed with the blue.

If you ever want a silly film, try Dark Shadows. I'm watching Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, maybe I should make a two headed alien. ;)

  5. It looks more like deep ocean water to me, so no wonder there is a shark there! Well now, that the sharks looks more like a golden fish, that's doesn't matter, we'll pretend it is a shark, lol! Both look cool, very unique and fresh!
Which fragrance did you use, some marine-kind?

    1. LOL Maja, you know me so well! It is a fish, but since it's coloured grey, I thought I'd pretend it's a shark invading the ocean of my mind. ;)

What's the scent? To be honest, I can't remember anymore, I think I might've used BB's Green Garden, which was silly since I have the seashore cybilla. Can you come and arrange my scents in a way that would make sense?
